When a single bin store makes sense

A one-bin store is often the neatest option for a narrow side return, a small front garden or a household that only needs to conceal one prominent bin. It can also work as a separate unit for food or garden waste when the remaining bins live elsewhere.

The small footprint is useful, but do not assume every single store will fit the same space. Side panels, framing and door hardware add width around the bin. A sloping or lifting roof can also need more room beneath a window sill or canopy than the closed height suggests.

Four checks before ordering

1. Measure the widest, deepest and tallest points of your actual bin.
2. Measure the usable site, including pipes, steps and other fixed obstacles.
3. Check the clear door opening, not only the external width of the store.
4. Confirm how far the door and roof move during everyday use.
