Measure both bins, not just one

Double wheelie bin storage is a common fit for households with separate general-waste and recycling bins. The important detail is that the two bins may not be identical. Replacement bins, garden-waste bins and bins supplied at different times can have different lids, handles or wheel positions even when the capacity label matches.

Measure the larger width, depth and height from each bin, then check the product’s internal arrangement. A generous overall width does not always mean both door openings are equally wide.

Allow room for bin day

The store needs to work when it is open, not only when it is closed. Check that the front doors can swing clear and that a full bin can roll straight out without catching a wall, parked car or gate. If the roof lifts, look for the open height or ask the retailer to confirm it.

One double unit or two singles?

A double unit usually gives a tidier continuous appearance. Two single stores can offer more flexible placement and make future replacement easier. Compare the full installed footprint, the base requirements and how each option reaches the collection route.

Use the Fit Finder with your measured space, or move to triple storage if you also need a permanent place for a third collection stream.
