Capacity is not an exact external size

Two bins marked with the same litre capacity may have different lids, wheels, handles and external dimensions.

Use capacity only for a shortlist

The Fit Finder accepts common capacities such as 120L, 140L, 180L, 240L and 360L. Exact measurements are still the more reliable input.

Measure these points

  1. Width: the widest point across the body, lid or handles.
  2. Depth: from the frontmost point to the rear wheels or handle.
  3. Height: from the ground to the highest point of the closed lid.
Do not assume all council bins are identical. Confirm every bin that will be stored, especially where different councils or replacement bins are involved.
