This policy explains how personal information is handled when someone uses BinFit or contacts the website operator.

Information used by the Fit Finder

Bin measurements, available-space measurements, preferences and comparison selections are stored in the visitor’s own browser. They are used to provide the requested matching and comparison functions. The current website does not require an account and does not send these measurements to BinFit.

Contact enquiries

If the contact form is enabled, BinFit processes the name, email address, selected subject and message supplied by the sender. This information is used to answer the enquiry, investigate a correction or respond to partnership and accessibility requests. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating and improving the website, or taking steps requested by the sender before entering an agreement.

Retention

Routine enquiries should be retained only for as long as needed to answer them and maintain an appropriate record of the correspondence. Product-correction evidence may be retained for longer where it supports the accuracy of a published record. A final retention schedule must be confirmed when production email delivery is configured.

Service providers and international transfers

The production hosting provider, email provider, security services, analytics tools and affiliate network must be recorded here before they receive personal data. If a provider processes information outside the UK, the operator must confirm that an appropriate UK data-transfer safeguard applies.

Affiliate links and external websites

When affiliate links are enabled, following a labelled commercial link may take the reader through an affiliate network to a retailer. Those organisations process data under their own privacy and cookie notices. BinFit will identify the active network in this policy before tracked links are published.

Rights

Depending on the circumstances, a person may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection in relation to their personal information. Requests can be made using the public email address above. Concerns may also be raised with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

This policy will be reviewed whenever hosting, analytics, email delivery, consent tooling or affiliate tracking changes.
